Yuletide Carols With Stampin’ Up! Specialty Papers & Die Cutting Tips

I am in love with today’s card. I won’t be leaving all the wonderful fall and autumn projects behind…but the next few weeks will be Christmas heavy as the holiday draws closer. I can’t believe that September is nearly over. I even skipped on the November preorder for now (first time in years I have not ordered the day a preorder became available, but I want the help to focus on what I have and have not had a chance to use!)

While prepping and then filming for the September Try It class – every time I went to use something that I had only used for that class, the excitement of the potential was more than I could stand! This card came to me while filming the Yuletide Carols Try It card. I hope you love it and find the tips for bulk producing and die cutting helpful!

When designing multiple cards keep in mind how much time you have and how many supplies it will require to make the same project over and over. Several of the DSP packets this September have been configured with fewer designs but MORE of each sheet. That’s helpful to have more to work with. This package of Yuletide Carols has 4 designs, 3 of each. Because they are so very similar you will be able to use most of them for the larger background panel and not lose the overall look of the card.

I love the paper, but it’s not part of a suite. I kept the front of the card fairly simple – mixing 2 new die cut sets and one stamp set (for the words). When mixing sets make sure to choose ones that 1) have a similar feel (not a cartoony and a realistic one for example) and 2) keep in mind the sizing. On this one the house needs to be similar in size to the tree.

The Welcome Noel bundle does have trees included, so I could have just opted to use those trees. But I love the little bit of primitive feel these particular trees added to the card.

I choose specialty papers to really make the card shine and then gave it a wink of stella/white refill snowfall.
