Today’s tutorial is a bit like yesterday’s.  I again used my Stamparatus to create a fun background for our fun butterflies.  This time though I DID use the Stamparatus to actually stamp them 

Instead of going for the carefree tie dye look, I took it up a notch and added the embossed Heat and Stick and Gilded Leafing to add that little extra fancy to it.  Oh my what fun this is!!

The Heat and Stick powder is a little fickle and does take some practice.  Using it on a background like this is perfect – it doesn’t matter if you get it right everywhere and will help you get the ‘feel’ for what it is like when it’s ready.  And it is a feel – it needs to feel sticky.  One second too long and it’s not sticky enough to hold the leafing.  The Butterflies are also done in the Gilded Leaf – the photos don’t do them justice.  They are a lot shinier than if you just use embossing powder.   I was going for the old Italian look with this card, so you know, 1000 year old cards may have cracked and lost some lines!
